Suppression/Sockeye

Suppression, once reluctantly part of a genre that was tagged "Power Violence", have since moved on, only to be compared to Death From Above 1979, and that band from Rhode Island that starts with an L. They sound like neither. They DO make you want to jerk about like a fish out of water. Watch: Suppression - Release The Piranha (wmv). Awesome video for this song from their LP of the same name. Sockeye...what can you say about Sockeye? With song titles like "Mater Blower" (a song about sodomizing a vegetable in someone's garden late at night.) or "Facial Disc" (with the chorus being "I just wanna jizz on your facial disc...ooohoooh"...I mean come on,... jizzing on an owl...) "Steve Albini Fucked Pac-Man" ,"Boy With Breast Implants", "A Pizza With Ulysses S. Grant On It".... the list goes on and on. The song I chose for this post is "Buttfuque Yr Face" from the band's "Retards Hiss Past My Window" LP (pictured above) This band severely warped our world view in the early to mid-nineties and has driven away many potential mates as well.It continues to crack me the hell up when I'm in a not so good mood. Everything happens for a reason I suppose...even this wacky band of gents from Ohio. I believe you can write to Food Fortunata (He was the lead singer and he's also done a lot of other weird outsider type stuff) and find out how you can hear lots more Sockeye, if you posses such a juvenile sense of humor as we do.
